These Two Fingers

We try to never be alone.

It worked well for a few years, and then suddenly the room was empty, we were three glasses of wine into the evening, and one of us was standing way too close. I tried not to brush her hair from her face or reach out at all, but somehow I found my arm around her waist without me noticing how it got there.
